We today found ourselves in a difficult tangle as we battle an invincible enemy. This is the most appropriate time to see ourselves as one and an indivisible entity. Our common humanity is more glaring than any time in the history of man. An injury to one is presumably an injury to all.
On this premise I want to on behalf of myself, Chief (Hon.) Godspower Akiefa and my family share the burden of our present struggle to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world with my leader and Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, his beautiful wife, Dame Patience Okowa and his family.
My heartfelt prayers are with the First family of our dear State. We have a God we depend on and I am positive we will overcome.
I also want to use this opportunity to stand in solidarity with the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, the Commissioner of Information, Charles Aniagwu and all Deltans who have become victims of this pandemic. We need ourselves now more than any time. I implore you all to be strong and not lose faith in your beliefs. We will all come out of this trying times better and stronger if we do not give in to the despair of the moment.
I implore all Deltans to know that Covid-19 is not a death sentence. We can protect ourselves and loved ones when we adhere strictly to all NCDC regulations and Delta State Government directives on how to mitigate the spread of this invisible enemy. Our safety is in our hands and we must take that responsibility to safeguard life.
My prayers are continually with you all. With God on our sides we will overcome.
