The Social Democratic Party (SDP), Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State is intact and currently undergoing quiet internal re-engineering. The party is using this phase to sit, review the success of the party during the 2024 Local Government election, plan, prepare, project and restructure the party leadership to enthrone internal democracy. The Social Democratic Party, built on the principles of social democracy and social justice, is the right platform to liberate Burutu people from the shackles of retrogressive politics and underdevelopment.

The SDP wishes to use this opportunity to dispell rumours that there are no opposition parties in Burutu Local Government Area with the unprincipled mass defection of ruling PDP to the sinking APC, in what many described as a misguided and selfish attempt at political survival. When politics become selfish politics, we are then nothing but empty vessels, betrayers of the dreams of other people and mockers of democracy. 

There must be dignity in politics. Political parties must be ideologically based. Politicians must stay in their parties and build it. It is political harlotry to decamp to a party you formerly demonized because you want to have access to the corridors of Abuja, without a basis in reason or fact. This is clearly unwarranted, unthinkable and unprincipled.

The SDP is patiently organizing the party, planning and making necessary arrangements to build a platform for the youths of Burutu Local Government Area to identify with. We are mentally, physically and emotionally prepared to play the role of a credible opposition to the PDAPC realigned administration in Burutu Area Council. 

The SDP Burutu Local Government Area is strongly on ground and planting silently. The party, in our wisdom, deem it fit to give the former PDP now PDAPC realigned administration ample time to perform and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy, all to no avail. Burutu Local Government Area is currently under the chokehold of "Make-believe Government" and camera gimmick. While there is an abundance of flashy promises from the former PDP now APC State Government and the Burutu Area Council on daily basis, the shows are clearly well scripted illusions and movements without motion.

The Burutu people are tired of waiting for the completion of the wickedly abandoned Ayakoromo Bridge project and the Marine Polytechnic Burutu Permanent Site. We also desire the complete electrification of Burutu North communities from the Forcados Terminal at Ogulagha and Burutu South communities from Beniseide Location at Ojobo. This are practical projects that will endear the government to the people not white elephant projects. 

Latest in the grapevine, is the news of a visit by a Delta State Delegation to revitalize Burutu Port. We remember how ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa(yo) used the revitalization of Burutu Port as a campaign strategy to get Burutu votes to gain political advantage. The Burutu people after years of loyalty to the PDP (now PDAPC) are left in the cold with nothing to show for it. We believe this is another political gimmick to blindfold the innocent Burutu people to keep them busy and salivating.
